Tiger Woods will be making his 2019 debut and will be paired for the first two rounds with Schauffele and Tony Finau, neither of whom has ever played an official round on the PGA Tour with the 14-time major winner. … Woods is an eight-time winner at Torrey Pines, which is the site of his last major title (2008 U.S. Open). … Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott will be making their first career starts in the event. They will be paired with Rickie Fowler, who is making his 2019 debut, in the opening two rounds. … Day will be paired with two-time Farmers champion Brant Snedeker and Spain’s Jon Rahm, whose first PGA Tour victory came at Torrey Pines two years ago. … Phil Mickelson is not in the field at his hometown tournament for the first time in 29 years. … Jordan Spieth is in the field for the first time since 2015 and played a practice round with Woods on Tuesday.
