Brayan Bello delivered a quality outing over 6 2/3 innings as the visiting Boston Red Sox beat the Miami Marlins 7-2 on Wednesday.

Bello (8-5) allowed one run on seven hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. Matsaka Yoshida and Rafael Devers each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Red Sox.

Marlins starting pitcher Trevor Rogers (1-9) lasted three innings, giving up two runs on five hits, with three walks and six strikeouts.

Boston blew it open in the ninth. Tyler O’Neill scored his second run of the night on Devers’ triple to make it 4-1. Two outs later, the Red Sox loaded the bases on back-to-back walks and Ceddanne Rafaela doubled to drive in three runs.

Xavier Edwards cut it to 7-2 in the ninth, scoring on a sacrifice fly after hitting a leadoff double and moving to third on an error.

Reliever Calvin Faucher was called upon in the seventh, but the righty didn’t make it out of the inning. He walked O’Neill and Devers in consecutive at-bats to start the inning and then Connor Wong, who extended his hitting streak to 17 games in the second, loaded the bases with an infield single.

Romy Gonzalez hit into a fielder’s choice, during which the Marlins threw out O’Neill at the plate. Faucher was then replaced by Andrew Nardi, who got Yoshida to ground out to third but that scored Devers and put the Red Sox ahead 3-1.

The Marlins threatened in the bottom of the seventh but couldn’t take advantage. Emmanuel Rivera and Nick Fortes each hit two-out singles, ending Bello’s night. But Jazz Chisholm Jr. grounded out to end the inning.

In the third, after Rob Refsnyder drew a one-out walk, O’Neill and Devers each singled, with Refsnyder coming home on Devers’ hit to tie it 1-1.

Gonzalez walked with two outs to load the bases and Yoshida singled to give the Red Sox a 2-1 lead.

Chisholm led off the first with a single to right field and Bryan De La Cruz followed with another single. Chisholm advanced to third when Josh Bell flied out and then scored when Jesus Sanchez singled to right to give the Marlins a 1-0 lead.
Sanchez went 3-for-4.
