The Baltimore Orioles selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Tucker Davidson from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday with two gajes remaining in the regular season.
In order to add Davidson to the active roster, the Orioles optioned right-handed pitcher Bryan Baker to the team’s spring training complex. Baltimore had an open spot on its 40-man roster.
Davidson, 28, who has starter and bullpen experience, is expected to see time on the mound during Saturday’s game at the Minnesota Twins. A Baltimore starter has not been announced.
Davidson finished this season with a 5-11 with a 3.89 ERA in 32 appearances (17 starts) for Triple-A Norfolk.
Davidson has a 3-10 career record with a 5.98 ERA and two saves in 55 games (17 starts) for the Braves (2020-22), Los Angeles Angels (2022-23) and Kansas City Royals (2023).
Baker, 29, went 1-1 with a 5.01 ERA in 19 relief appearances with the Orioles this season. He is 9-7 with a 3.76 ERA in 132 appearances (two starts) with the Toronto Blue Jays (2021) and Orioles (2022-2024).
