Guard Jalen Suggs and the Orlando Magic have agreed on a five-year, $150.5 million extension to his rookie contract, ESPN reported Monday.
The 23-year-old Suggs, who signed a four-year, $30 million deal in 2021 that will pay him $9.1 million this season, was voted to the NBA All-Defensive second team last season.
He averaged 12.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 27.0 minutes in 75 regular-season games (all starts) last season. Suggs shot a career-best 39.7 percent from 3-point range.
Suggs also recorded 14.7 points, 5.1 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 33.1 minutes across seven playoff games.
The Magic selected him fifth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft out of Gonzaga. He has averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds. 3.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 26.0 minutes in 176 games (139 starts).
