Syracuse guard JJ Starling sustained an injury to his left hand at practice and will not play in the team’s road game against No. 3 Tennessee on Tuesday, the school announced.
Starling was injured during Monday’s session.
Per Syracuse.com, Starling was seen wearing a cast while with the team prior to its SEC/ACC Challenge game in Knoxville, Tenn.
Starling is averaging a club-best 19.8 points per game for the Orange (4-2), who snapped a two-game skid with an 82-72 victory over Cornell on Wednesday. Starling scored 12 points on 3-of-17 shooting from the floor versus the Big Red.
Tennessee (7-0) has won all seven of its games this season by at least 15 points.
