The Chicago Fire signed 2024 MLS NEXT Pro MVP David Poreba to a first-team contract on Wednesday.
The deal with the 22-year-old midfielder runs through 2025 with club options for 2026 through 2028.
Poreba also earned Best XI honors and won the MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot with 18 goals and six assists in 28 starts for Chicago Fire II in 2024.
“David has earned this opportunity after an impressive season,” head coach Gregg Berhalter said. “… David is a very promising young player with strong leadership qualities, and we look forward to seeing his continued development at the next level.”
Poreba previously played for Crown Legacy FC in MLS NEXT Pro and with Polish side Stal Mielec.
