D.C. United acquired defender Lukas MacNaughton from Nashville SC on Wednesday night.
In exchange, Nashville receives up to $200,000 in general allocation money: a guaranteed $150,000 in 2025 and a conditional $50,000 in 2026.
MacNaughton, 29, has recorded one goal in 48 MLS matches (40 starts) with Toronto FC (2022-23) and Nashville (2023-24).
“Lukas is an experienced defender who has impressive defensive awareness and experience in the league playing with both Toronto FC and Nashville SC,” D.C. United general manager Ally Mackay said in a release. “We’re excited to welcome him to the team and bolster our defensive depth ahead of the 2025 season.”
MacNaughton was born in Belgium and represents Canada internationally, earning his first cap in a 2022 friendly against Bahrain.
