The Houston Dynamo acquired defender Michael Halliday from Orlando City SC on Tuesday for a 2026 first-round draft pick.
Halliday, 22, is under contract through the 2025 season with club options for 2026 and 2027, while Orlando City retained a future sell-on percentage.
“Michael is a promising young American player with unique physical traits to play right back in our system,” said Dynamo president of soccer Pat Onstad. “We look forward to his continued development in Houston and his on-field contributions in our 20th season.”
An Orlando native and homegrown player, Halliday tallied two assists in 36 MLS matches (13 starts) from 2021-24. He made his MLS debut in May 2021 at the age of 18.
