Dignitas, Cloud9 notch wins in North 2025 Split 2 group phase

esports fans

Cloud9 and Dignitas joined the teams at the top of group phase standings on Sunday after two days in the LTA North 2025 Split 2 of the League of Legends tournament in Los Angeles.

Team Liquid of Group A and FlyQuest of Group B each went 1-0 on opening day.

Cloud9 swept Disguised 2-0 on Sunday, winning in 29 minutes and 39 minutes, both on blue. American Robert “Blaber” Huang was voted the most valuable player.

Dignitas claimed a 2-1 triumph over Shopify Rebellion, which won the first map in 32 minutes on red. Dignitas evened the score with a 44-minute win on blue, and then won the third game. Canadian/Filipino jungler Jade “Sheiden” Libut was voted MVP.

Next weekend, FlyQuest face Shopify Rebellion and Team Liquid take on Disguised on May 3; Cloud9 battle LYON and 100 Thieves play Dignitas on May 4.

Eight teams competed in positioning play — a round-robin format in which each team plays the other seven once. Each match is one map and the results determined Groups A and B for the group phase, which began Saturday and runs through May 18.

Following group play and one week of cross-group battles, the top six teams will advance to the best-of-five, double-elimination playoffs on May 24-June 15.

The total prize pool is $160,000, with $80,000 going to the winner and $40,000 to the runner-up. The winner also receives entry into the Mid-Season Invitational and the winner and runner-up qualify for the Esports World Cup.
