esports fans

Taking advantage of getting two games on opening weekend, NTMR beat Spacestation Gaming on Sunday to become the first team to improve to 2-0 in the Overwatch Champions Series North America Stage 2.

After sweeping Sakura Esports on Saturday, NTMR needed four maps on Sunday to get by Spacestation after dropping Ilios Control 2-0 to open the match. NTMR rebounded with three straight wins: 3-1 on Circuit Royal Escort, 3-2 on Suravasa Flashpoint and 144.16m to 53.27m on Runasapi Push.

In the day’s other match, Geekay Esports swept Supernova in the first match for each team. Geekay took Ilios Control 2-0 to open the match, then won 1-0 on Circuit Royal Escort and closed it out 131m to 97.82m on Runasapi Push.

The tournament, played online, features eight teams. The regular-season round robin will conclude on June 15, with six qualifying teams heading to the double-elimination regional playoffs.
