LSU QB Burrow massive Heisman favorite

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow went from slight favorite to the overwhelming betting choice to win the Heisman Trophy following the No. 2 Tigers’ victory at third-ranked Alabama on Saturday.

Burrow, who was +120 last week at the Las Vegas Westgate SuperBook is now at -1000, meaning a bettor would take home only $10 of profit for every $100 wagered.

BetAmerica lists Burrow at the same odds, while FanDuel Sportsbook puts the senior at minus-800.

Burrow has led a revived LSU offense to a 9-0 record and the driver’s seat in the SEC West after the win over Alabama, which served as his “Heisman moment.” He completed 31 of 39 passes for 393 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked five times but still ran for 32 yards.

He is second nationally in passing yards per game (355.3) and third in passing efficiency (202.5 rating).

Burrow leads the country in completion percentage (78.9), hitting on 236 of 299 throws for 3,198 yards, 33 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is second in the Heisman odds at plus-800 at Westgate SuperBook. His Buckeyes were No. 1 in the initial rankings last week from the College Football Playoff selection committee. Fields has thrown for 27 touchdowns, rushed for 10, and has been intercepted only once.

Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts and Alabama signal-caller Tua Tagovailoa are +1000 in what amounts to a four-man race.

Ohio State defensive end Chase Young was making a move and was fifth behind the elite quartet of quarterbacks last week at +1200. But he missed Saturday’s game against Maryland because of an NCAA suspension that Ohio State reportedly expects to last four games. Westgate’s new odds put him at 100-1, or +10000.
