The Atlanta Braved claimed outfielder Jake Fraley off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday and recalled right-hander Dane Dunning from Triple-A Gwinnett.
In addition, the Braves also recalled right-hander Connor Seabold from Triple-A, while right-handers Hunter Stratton and Daysbel Hernandez were optioned to Gwinnett.
Fraley, 30, was designated for assignment by the Reds on Sunday after four seasons with the club. He was batting .232 with six home runs and 23 RBIs in 67 games. He is a career .247 hitter with 47 home runs and 179 RBIs in 459 games with the Seattle Mariners (2019-21) and Reds.
Dunning, 30, has a combined nine relief appearances for the Texas Rangers and Braves this season, while recording a 14.29 ERA in four games for the Braves after he was acquired in a July 18 trade. Over six major league seasons with the Chicago White Sox (2020), Rangers (2021-25) and Braves, Dunning is 28-32 with a 4.43 ERA in 133 appearances (102 starts).
Seabold, 29, is set to make his first appearance with the Braves after he was selected off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 10. He is 1-11 with a 7.73 ERA in 36 appearances (19 starts) over four seasons with three teams.
Stratton, 28, has a 7.27 ERA in six relief appearances with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Braves this season. Hernandez, 28, was 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA in 38 relief appearances for Atlanta earlier this season.
