Kiefer Sherwood scored twice, including the overtime winner, as the Vancouver Canucks edged the visiting Edmonton Oilers 4-3 on Sunday night.

Brock Boeser added a goal and two assists, and Elias Pettersson also scored for Vancouver, which snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 2-2-0 on home ice this season.

Goaltender Thatcher Demko made 26 saves and moved to 4-0-0 in his last four home starts against the Oilers.

Leon Draisaitl scored twice, and Jack Roslovic added a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who have dropped back-to-back games.

Calvin Pickard stopped 23 shots in the loss.

Sherwood redirected a Boeser shot past Pickard at 1:43 of the extra frame for the game-winner.

Trailing 3-1, the Oilers scored a pair in the third to force overtime.

Roslovic pulled Edmonton to one at 1:21 of the third period, stripping Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers of the puck and snapping it short side past Demko.

Edmonton tied it 3-3 on a power play at 14:57 as Draisaitl one-timed a Connor McDavid pass past Demko.

The Canucks took a 2-0 lead on a power play at 2:22 of the second period as Pettersson one-timed a Filip Hronek pass under the blocker of Pickard.

Edmonton cut the lead in half as Draisaitl beat Demko glove side on a breakaway at 16:32 of the middle frame.

Sherwood restored the two-goal lead with 41 seconds remaining in the middle frame, putting a nifty toe-drag on Mattias Ekholm before beating Pickard blocker side.

Boeser opened the scoring at 15:42 of the first period, beating Pickard five-hole with a backhand shot on a partial break. Two of Boeser’s four goals this season have come against the Oilers.

Canucks captain Quinn Hughes missed the game due to a lower-body injury and was replaced in the lineup by Victor Mancini. The defenseman played 8:18 of ice time but left the game in the second period and did not return.
