Anthony Edwards scored 35 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 120-113 victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday night in Salt Lake City.

It marked the ninth straight game Edwards scored at least 30 points against Utah. Julius Randle added 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists to help Minnesota beat Utah for the second time in four days. Rudy Gobert also tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

Donte DiVincenzo also had 14 points in a game-high 37 minutes.

Minnesota outscored the Jazz 54-36 in the paint and forced 15 turnovers.

Lauri Markkanen led Utah with 27 points and Keyonte George chipped in 21.

After struggling in the first quarter of their previous game against Minnesota, the Jazz got off to a quick start this time around. George led the way, powering a 10-0 run with back-to-back baskets that helped Utah take a 30-26 lead into the second quarter. Overall, he totaled 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting during the first quarter.

Minnesota countered with an identical 10-0 run late in the second quarter to turn a nine-point deficit into a 47-46 lead. Julius Randle powered the spurt by scoring a pair of baskets and assisting on a third field goal.

Once the Timberwolves gained momentum, they ran away from Utah after halftime.

Starting with a reverse layup from Randle on the final first-half play, Minnesota rattled off 15 unanswered points to take a 66-55 lead. Edwards powered the decisive run by scoring three baskets and assisting on a bucket from Randle.

The Timberwolves outscored Utah 33-9 through the first 8 1/2 minutes of the third quarter, going up 86-64.

Utah cut the deficit to single digits multiple times in the fourth quarter, drawing within 98-91 when Ace Bailey scored baskets on back-to-back possessions. That’s as close as the Jazz could get in their comeback attempt.
