Scottie Barnes helps Raptors hammer Heat

South Florida native Scottie Barnes scored a game-high 27 points and added eight rebounds and four assists, leading the Toronto Raptors to a 112-91 win over the host Miami Heat on Tuesday night.

Barnes, held to just six points in his previous game, made 10 of 14 shots.

Immanuel Quickley added 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds as Toronto snapped a two-game losing streak.

Raptors rookie Collin Murray-Boyles had an impressive game, leading all players with nine offensive rebounds. He finished with 11 points and a career-high 12 total boards in 25 minutes off the bench.

The Raptors played without starting center Jakob Poeltl due to a back injury. Sandro Mamukelashvili started in his place and had 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 21 points off the bench as the Heat lost their third straight and their eighth in nine games.

Miami also got 17 points from Norman Powell and 14 from Andrew Wiggins.

The Heat played without All-Star guard Tyler Herro (toe injury) as well as Nikola Jovic (elbow) and Pelle Larsson (ankle).

Miami trailed 21-16 after the opening 12 minutes. Toronto got off to a 16-3 start; however, neither team shot well in that opening quarter — 33.3% overall and 3-for-13 on 3-pointers for Toronto; 29.2% and 1-for-10 from deep for Miami.

With 9:38 left in the second, the Heat took its first lead, 25-23, on a Bam Adebayo dunk. But Toronto battled back and led 51-44 at halftime.

Toronto shot 54.5% in the second quarter. Miami shot 42.9% in the second.

The Raptors stretched their lead to 63-47 with 8:15 left in the third. By the end of the period, the Raptors led 82-67.

Toronto blew the game open in the fourth.

For the game, Toronto shot 47.7%, including 36.8% (14-for-38) on 3-pointers. Miami shot 40.2%, including 26.7% (8-for-30) from deep.
