UConn remained the unanimous No. 1 team on Monday and Huskies coach Geno Auriemma tied the record for the most appearances in The Associated Press Top 25 women’s basketball poll.

UConn has appeared in the rankings 654 times during Auriemma’s 41-year Hall of Fame career, matching the mark set by former Stanford coach Tara VanDerveer. The Huskies have been ranked for the past 619 consecutive weeks.

Defending national champion UConn (27-0) posted victories last week against Creighton and Marquette to extend its winning streak to 43 games overall and 63 straight in Big East play.

The top five teams were unchanged, with No. 2 UCLA (25-1) followed by South Carolina (25-2), Texas (24-3) and Vanderbilt (24-3).

No. 6 Michigan (22-4) and No. 7 LSU (22-4) changed places, with Louisville (24-4), Duke (19-6) and Ohio State (22-4) rounding out the top 10 in Monday’s poll, the 900th in the 50-year history of the AP Top 25.
