Strong starts for Aurora Gaming, Team Falcons at Wallachia Season 7

Aurora Gaming, Team Falcons, PARIVISION and HEROIC each recorded a sweep on Saturday, the first day of group stage play of PGL Wallachia Season 7 in Bucharest, Romania.

Team Liquid, Natus Vincere, Team Spirit and Vici Gaming won by 2-1 margins.

The $1 million Dota 2 tournament features a group stage from Saturday through Wednesday with 16 teams playing a modified Swiss system format. All matches are best-of-three. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs, and the bottom eight are eliminated.

The playoffs run from March 12-15 in a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three until the grand final, which is best-of-five.

First place is worth $300,000, with $175,000 for second place and $120,000 for third.

On Saturday, PARIVISION swept Yellow Submarine 2-0, winning in 42 minutes and 55 minutes, both on red.

Aurora Gaming downed MOUZ in 41 minutes on green and 38 minutes on red.

Team Falcons went all red in beating Team Nemesis in 34 and 44 minutes.

HEROIC beat Team Yandex in 41 minutes on red and 36 minutes on green.

Vici Gaming opened with a 31-minute win on green before OG drew even in 33 minutes on green. Vici took the tight match in 57 minutes on green.

Team Spirit followed a similar pattern against Xtreme Gaming, opening with a 46-minute victory on red. Xtreme evened the match in 42 minutes on green before Team Spirit emerged with a 39-minute win on red.

Team Liquid dropped the opening map as BetBoom Team won in 37 minutes on green before Liquid stormed back with wins in 35 and 25 minutes, both on red.

Natus Vincere fell behind at the start as Tundra Esports won in 31 minutes on green before Natus Vincere won in 34 and 33 minutes, both on red.
