Four-time MVP and three-time WNBA champion A’ja Wilson intends to remain with the Las Vegas Aces.

The 29-year-old forward confirmed Friday that she has no plans to pursue another opportunity in free agency.

“I’m not looking,” Wilson said, per ESPN. “I know exactly where I am. I love Vegas. I’m not leaving Vegas. I’m looking to win another one. I’m looking to defend a championship that we have in Las Vegas. I’m looking to get better as a leader, as a player. Everything else just kind of falls in line.”

Wilson is currently in Phoenix, participating in the USA Basketball national team training camp.

After ratifying a new collective bargaining agreement last month, the WNBA is entering an unprecedented period in which nearly every player not currently on a rookie contract is set to become a free agent. The new maximum salary for 2026 is $1.4 million, up from $249,244 last season.

Wilson has been with the Aces since they drafted her with the No. 1 overall pick in 2018. The seven-time All-Star and three-time Defensive Player of the Year guided Las Vegas to its third title in four seasons in 2025.

Wilson’s commitment to the Aces came after similar statements this week from Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu about sticking with the New York Liberty.

The WNBA is holding an expansion draft Friday for the new teams in Portland and Toronto. The league wants to finish free agency before training camps open on April 19.

“The challenge is just doing it,” Wilson said of free agency across the league. “The challenge is getting it done. Finding your home. Finding what you feel like is what’s right for you. When it comes to us, when the job has to be handled and done, we’re always going to do it the right way. I hope that when everyone’s looking at their teams and where they want to go, I hope that they pick where their heart wants them to be.”

Wilson averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.6 steals in 40 games last season, earning her fourth MVP trophy.
