Kaitlyn Terry delivered an RBI double in the ninth and allowed just two runs in five innings over three stints in the circle to lift Texas Tech to an 8-7, extra-inning win over UCLA on Sunday in a Women’s College World Series elimination game Sunday in Oklahoma City.

Terry, who spent the previous two seasons at UCLA before transferring ahead of this season, was 0-for-3 before stepping to the plate in the ninth following Taylor Pannell’s leadoff single.

She drilled Taylor Tinsley’s 0-1 offering into the gap in left-center and Pannell raced around to break the tie. The Red Raiders added another run on an error by Bruins shortstop Aleena Garcia.

In the bottom half, Texas Tech coach Gerry Glasco switched back to Terry in the circle, continuing the rotation between Terry and NiJaree Canady.

Rylee Slimp delivered a one-out single to bring the tying run to the plate as NCAA single-season home run record holder Megan Grant stepped up.

Terry pitched around Grant, bringing Jordan Woolery to the plate with a chance to end it.

Woolery had tied the game with a two-run home run in the seventh to force extra innings.

Woolery didn’t leave the park this time, but came through with an RBI single up the middle to make it a one-run game.

Canady then returned to the circle from first base, getting Garcia to fly out for the second out of the inning.

Canady then struck out Bri Alejandre looking to win the game.

The Red Raiders (59-8) will take on Alabama in the WCWS semifinals Monday night, needing two victories over the Crimson Tide to make the best-of-three championship series for the second straight season.

Mia Williams and Mihyia Davis had three hits each for Texas Tech, with Williams scoring three runs and hitting her 25th homer of the season.

Woolery finished 3-for-4 with five RBIs.

UCLA (53-10) finished the season with an NCAA-record 209 home runs.
