Four-time All-Star guard Kelsey Plum is out at least four weeks with a lower left leg injury, the Los Angeles Sparks announced Wednesday.
It is a significant setback for the Sparks, given that Plum is second in the league in scoring (23.9 points per game) and sixth in assists (6.4).
Plum sat out a 99-83 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on June 17 due to the injury. She had her left leg taped in her return to the court Sunday, collecting 12 points and seven assists in a 98-97 victory over the New York Liberty.
Plum, 31, is in her ninth NBA season and her second with the Sparks after the San Antonio Stars/Las Vegas Aces franchise made her the No. 1 overall pick in 2017.
Plum won two championships with the Aces and was the Sixth Player of the Year in 2021. She earned four straight All-Star nods from 2022-25, which includes last year in her first season with Los Angeles.
In 290 career games (248 starts), Plum has averaged 15.5 points, 4.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds per contest.
