Becky Hammon of the Las Vegas Aces and Cheryl Reeve of the Minnesota Lynx have secured the head coaching roles for the July 25 WNBA All-Star Game in Chicago.

The selection is based on the two teams with the league’s highest winning percentage at the end of the day Friday.

The Aces and Lynx share the WNBA’s best record at 16-6 (.727) and both teams are idle on Friday.

Hammon clinched her spot in the Aces’ 88-80 victory Thursday against the Portland Fire. It will be her third time to coach in the All-Star Game (2022, 2023).

This will be the fifth midseason showcase for Reeve (2013, 2014, 2017, 2025), who became the league’s winningest head coach with her 380th victory in Wednesday’s 86-80 defeat of the Connecticut Sun.

Reeve coached Team Collier to a 151-131 victory against Team Clark in last year’s All-Star Game in Indianapolis.

Under this year’s format, honorary general managers Teresa Weatherspoon and Cynthia Cooper will help to celebrate the league’s 30th anniversary by drafting teams from the pool of 22 players. Details of the draft have not yet been announced.

Golden State Valkyries coach Natalie Nakase’s squad is in third place in the standings at 16-7. Even with a victory on Friday night against the Sun, her record of 17-7 (.708) still will rank third.
