Cristopher Sanchez recorded his major-league-leading 15th win and Bryson Stott had two of his team’s eight doubles Thursday as the Philadelphia Phillies notched a 7-3 home victory over the Washington Nationals.

Stott was one of seven Phillies players who hit a double in the first three innings alone. Philadelphia compiled 16 hits with seven players contributing exactly two hits and seven players driving in a run.

J.T. Realmuto and Bryce Harper each had two hits and scored twice for the Phillies, who have won five of six. Philadelphia took three of four in the series.

Washington managed two runs and six hits against Sanchez (15-4), who needed 98 pitches to battle through five innings. Andrew Pinckney’s first career hit was an opposite-field home run against the All-Star left-hander.

Sanchez struck out six and walked two.

Miles Mikolas (3-9) allowed six runs and a season-high 12 hits in five innings for the Nationals, who have lost eight of their last nine games. He walked one and fanned one.

Washington’s Jacob Young and Keibert Ruiz each amassed two hits and an RBI.

Philadelphia jumped on Mikolas for two runs in the first inning, highlighted by RBI doubles from Luis Arraez and Alec Bohm. Washington answered in the second on Young’s RBI single, but the hosts got that run back in the bottom of the frame as Realmuto doubled and scored on Justin Crawford’s base hit.

Sanchez worked out of trouble in the third, setting the stage for another big inning for the Phillies’ offense.

Harper doubled to open the bottom half and came around to score on a two-out double by Brandon Marsh. Realmuto followed with a single to send Marsh home, and then Stott hit an RBI double to make it 6-1.

Pinckney, in his second major league game, socked a fourth-inning homer that brought the visitors within 6-2. Two frames later, Ruiz delivered an RBI single against Orion Kerkering.

In Philadelphia’s half of the sixth, Stott led off with a double and scored on Kyle Schwarber’s single, pushing the margin to 7-3.

Phillies relievers Jose Alvarado, Jonathan Bowlan and Jhoan Duran each logged a 1-2-3 frame to close it out.
