The Houston Dynamo will try to build on their five-game unbeaten streak when they take on the New England Revolution on Saturday afternoon in Foxborough, Mass., in the first meeting between the sides since 2024.

The game was postponed from March 7 due to winter weather delaying the delivery and installation of the stadium’s new natural grass surface.

That delay may have worked in Houston’s favor, as the Dynamo (9-6-2, 29 points) have earned points in nine of their past 11 matches. The 23 points amassed over that stretch are the most in the Western Conference and have pushed Houston to fourth place in the West standings.

The Dynamo’s most recent result was a 2-0 road win over Sporting Kansas City last Saturday as Guilherme and Agustin Bouzat scored second-half goals to overwhelm the home team after SKC were reduced to 10 men late in the first half.

Houston coach Ben Olsen said that his team’s recent success was about learning how to play together, especially at the defensive end where Houston has put together back-to-back clean sheets.

“We talk about defending a lot and how that’s still where we want to hang our hat. If you don’t give up goals, you have a better chance to win,” Dynamo coach Ben Olsen said. “We know we can control that. That’s effort, that’s details, that’s principles, that’s collective effort from everyone on the field.”

Guilherme leads the team in goals (10) and assists (seven) while goalkeeper Jonathan Bond has amassed five clean sheets this season.

The Revolution (9-5-3, 30 points) head home after a 2-2 draw at CF Montreal last weekend, which extended New England’s unbeaten streak to three games coming out of the World Cup break. The Revolution are 4-2-2 over their past eight matches and sit in third place in the Eastern Conference.

Carles Gil converted on a penalty kick in his 200th career MLS regular-season start, and Dor Turgeman also found the net for the Revolution in the draw with Montreal.

“We are always learning from game to game,” Revolution coach Marko Mitrovic said Friday. “There is always (a) result in the final product, but sometimes there are certain times where we want to (grow) as a team. I’m actually very positive and I think we are growing week to week. We have a lot more clarity on how we can advance the ball and be dangerous.”

Gil’s seven goals pace the Revolution’s attack while his six assists are tied for the team lead with Luca Langoni.
