Prince Owusu and Tai Baribo exchanged second-half goals as CF Montreal and visiting D.C. United played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night.

The draw extends D.C. United’s (5-5-9, 24 points) unbeaten streak to six matches (1-0-5). The Black-and-Red also have points in 11 of 12 matches. D.C. United improved to 4-7-6 all-time in MLS regular-season action in Montreal.

Montreal (4-10-5, 17 points) has points in back-to-back matches but is still without a win since a 2-0 decision over Orlando City on May 9.

Owusu opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 50th minute.

D.C. United defender Keisuke Kurokawa committed a handball in the area in the 49th minute.

On the ensuing penalty kick, Owusu put his strike just under the bar for his team-leading 11th goal.

Baribo pulled the visitors even in the 67th minute, heading a Kimito Nono cross up and over keeper Thomas Gillier for his team-leading 12th goal and extending his scoring streak to five matches.

Montreal dominated first-half possession and had two shots on target as the two sides remained scoreless after 45 minutes.

Owusu had a glorious opportunity in the 17th minute off a cross from Hennadii Synchuk, but D.C. keeper Sean Johnson made the save.

Then in the 33rd minute, off another Synchuk through ball, Owusu’s one-touch strike in the box was kicked aside by Johnson.

Synchuk had an excellent chance of his own in the 37th minute in the middle of the box, but his strike sailed over the woodwork.

Saturday was the second of two meetings between the sides this season. They previously played to a 4-4 draw in Washington on May 23.

Next Wednesday, Montreal travels to Columbus for a clash with the Crew, while D.C. United entertain the New England Revolution.
