The Houston Dash announced a new contract with veteran midfielder Danny Colaprico on Tuesday.
The deal with Colaprico, 33, runs through the 2027 NWSL season and includes a mutual option for 2028.
“Danny has embraced what we are building in Houston and brings a level of experience and perspective that is extremely valuable to our group,” Dash president of women’s soccer Angela Hucles Mangano said in a news release. “She understands what it takes to compete in this league and is willing to share that knowledge with the players around her. Her ability to read the game, manage moments and set a standard in our daily environment makes her an important part of what we are building in Houston.”
Colaprico has recorded two assists in 47 appearances (45 starts) since joining the Dash ahead of the 2025 season. Earlier this season, she became just the fourth player in league history to reach 200 career starts.
“Having spent almost two full seasons with the club, I’ve seen the commitment across the group and the work that goes into creating this new identity for the organization,” Colaprico said. “I truly believe we can accomplish something special in Houston, and I look forward to sharing my experience and doing my part to help this team succeed.”
She has five goals and 13 assists in 235 career NWSL matches (212 starts) with the Chicago Red Stars (2015-22), San Diego Wave (2023-24) and Houston.
A first-round draft pick by Chicago, Colaprico was the NWSL Rookie of the Year in 2015 and made the league’s Second XI in three straight seasons from 2015-17. She helped San Diego win the 2023 NWSL Shield and 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup.
