United States Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk has been named the lead analyst for USA Sports and Golf Channel’s golf coverage in a multi-year deal.
Furyk, 56, made his debut for USA Sports in March at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and became a regular fixture this season, including working the U.S. Open and The Open Championship. He will also be on the call for Golf Channel’s coverage of this week’s Tour Championship.
Beginning in 2027, he is slated to be on the call for major championships and signature events, as well as the new Championship Series tournaments beginning in 2028.
“I’m thrilled to expand my role with USA Sports and Golf Channel to call the action at men’s majors and the biggest PGA Tour events for years to come,” Furyk said. “I have really enjoyed my time in the booth and look forward to continuing to develop in the role, providing my expertise and analysis for golf fans, and working with everyone behind the scenes.”
Furyk will contribute again to Golf Channel’s “Live From The Masters” studio coverage next year.
The U.S. Ryder Cup captain for the event in Ireland next September is a 17-time winner on the PGA Tour, including the 2003 U.S. Open. Furyk also carded the only 58 in tour history at the 2016 Travelers Championship.
