Nolan McLean worked through six innings and won his third straight decision Friday night, when the host New York Mets beat the San Francisco Giants 10-6 in the opener of a three-game series.

Mark Vientos hit a three-run homer in the first to give the Mets (64-77) a lead they’d never relinquish. Francisco Alvarez went deep twice while Bo Bichette and Francisco Lindor each had two-run homers.

Juan Soto hit into an RBI forceout for the Mets, who have won four of six. Lindor, Vientos, Alvarez and Bichette all finished with two hits apiece.

Rafael Devers was 3-for-4 with five RBIs via a two-RBI double and a three-run homer, for the Giants (58-84), who have dropped three of four. Turner Hill finished 2-for-4 with a run-scoring single in the sixth. Jonah Cox had two hits and scored two runs after entering as a pinch-hitter in the seventh.

McLean (11-8) allowed two runs on six hits and four walks while striking out seven. The rookie right-hander had just two 1-2-3 innings but limited the Giants to two hits in 11 plate appearances with runners in scoring position. He wriggled out of a bases-loaded, none-out jam in the fifth when McLean struck out Jung Hoo Lee before getting Drew Cavanaugh to hit into a double play.

McLean is 3-0 with a 1.08 ERA in his last four starts.

Jefry Yan and Austin Warren combined to give up four runs in 1 2/3 innings. Warren surrendered Devers’ blast with two outs in the eighth before Robert Stock, who made his first six appearances this season as a starter, recorded the final out.

Alvarez’s second homer in the bottom of the inning removed the save situation for Kodai Senga, who threw a hitless ninth.

Rookie Matt Wilkinson (0-3) took the loss for the Giants after giving up seven runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out two over three innings.

Yunior Marte went the rest of the way and allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two.
