Coby Mayo homered twice and the Baltimore Orioles snapped a six-game losing streak by defeating the visiting Cleveland Guardians 6-4 on Monday afternoon to begin a three-game series.

Starting pitcher Trevor Rogers threw 7 1/3 strong innings, reaching the 10-win mark for the first time in his seven-year career.

Mayo smashed his 20th home run with a solo shot in the third inning and drilled a two-run homer in the sixth for his first career multi-homer game.

Mayo’s three runs batted in along with two hits apiece from Samuel Basallo and Rece Hinds were a big part of the offense for the Orioles (70-75). Hinds was in his second game with Baltimore and notched his first big-league hit since April with the Cincinnati Reds.

Steven Kwan and Jo Adell each had two hits and Nathaniel Lowe smashed a pinch-hit, three-run homer for the Guardians (73-72), who began a six-game road trip. Starter Joey Cantillo (9-9) took the loss as he was charged with four runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Rogers (10-9), who was making his third start with a chance to get to 10 wins, gave up a single to Kwan to lead off the game. The Guardians didn’t have another hit until the sixth. Rogers ended up allowing one run on six hits without a walk and six strikeouts.

Andrew Kittredge gave up Lowe’s blast in the ninth before Josh Walker entered to record the final out for his first career save.

Baltimore’s Dylan Beavers rapped a run-scoring double for a 1-0 lead in the second inning.

Mayo’s first homer of the day gave the Orioles more than one run for the first time in four games. They tacked on two more runs in the inning on bases-loaded walks to Blaze Alexander and Pete Alonso. The last two walks marked a rough beginning to reliever Franco Aleman’s stint.

Adell’s two-out double in the sixth inning put the Guardians on the board. Mayo answered with his second homer in the bottom of the inning.
