Jackson Chourio had three hits, including one of three home runs in the first two innings for the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday evening, helping them complete a three-game sweep of the visiting Chicago Cubs with an 8-6 win.
Christian Yelich and William Contreras also homered for Milwaukee (91-56), which stretched its lead to 10 games over the Cubs atop the National League Central Division.
Brewers starter Logan Henderson (10-3) went five innings, allowing one unearned run and two hits while striking out six and walking one.
Cubs right-hander Kevin Gausman (9-12) surrendered seven runs (six earned) and eight hits in four innings. He struck out six and walked two.
Chicago (81-66) has dropped four in a row overall.
Chourio started the bottom of the first with a single to left. After a one-out walk to Contreras, Gausman struck out Andrew Vaughn, but Yelich came through with a two-out homer to left-center field, giving the Brewers an early 3-0 lead.
Chourio came up with one out in the second and he jumped on a first-pitch splitter, homering over the fence in center to make it 4-0.
After a walk to Brice Turang, Contreras lined a two-run homer just inside the left-field foul pole to extend the lead to 6-0.
Turang scored three runs.
Chourio came through again in the third, delivering a two-out RBI single after Garrett Mitchell had reached on a throwing error by shortstop Nico Hoerner with one out in the inning, stretching the lead to 7-0.
The Cubs got on the scoreboard in the fourth when Pete Crow-Armstrong led off with a single, took second on a passed ball, third on a fly out and scored on a ground out to cut it to 7-1.
The Cubs made another throwing error with two outs in the sixth and Contreras followed with an RBI single to make it 8-1.
Brandon Sproat walked the first three batters in the ninth for Milwaukee. He then walked Ian Happ with one out to force in a run and make it 8-2.
Abner Uribe came in and gave up an RBI single to Hoerner, an RBI groundout to Pedro Ramirez and a two-run double to Michael Conforto that made it 8-6.
B.J. Murray Jr. struck out on a 3-2 pitch to end the game.
