BetBoom Team and Legacy won their groups Thursday as the playoff bracket was finalized at the $1 million FISSURE Playground #3 in Suzhou, China.
The Counter-Strike 2 event began Tuesday with 16 teams competing in two groups in a double-elimination format. Group winners advanced directly to the semifinals, with the runners-up advancing to the quarterfinals as the high seeds and the third-place teams as the low seeds.
BetBoom Team prevailed in Group A with a sweep of MIBR, winning 13-9 on Mirage and 16-14 on Anubis. Russia’s Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov led the way with game highs in kills (46) and assists (13).
MIBR’s quarterfinal opponent will be Alliance, who advanced out of the Group B lower bracket with sweeps against TYLOO and magic.
Legacy secured the top spot in Group B with a sweep against FURIA, winning 13-7 on Mirage and 13-9 on Ancient as Brazil’s Bruno “latto” Rebelatto provided a team-high 37 kills.
FURIA’s opponent in the quarterfinals will be G2 Esports, who emerged from the Group A lower bracket with a 2-1 win against 9z Team and a sweep of 5star eSports.
The single-elimination playoffs run Friday through Sunday. All matches are best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final. The winning team will collect $300,000 — $165,000 for the player prize and $135,000 for the team share.
