Corbin Carroll hit a two-run walk-off homer with one out in the ninth inning for the Arizona Diamondbacks, who overcame two three-run deficits to beat the Miami Marlins 8-7 on Monday in Phoenix.

Gabriel Moreno opened the Arizona ninth with a walk off Pete Fairbanks, who left due to an apparent injury after throwing a first-pitch ball to Geraldo Perdomo.

Jack Ralston (0-1) entered and Perdomo put down a sacrifice bunt to get pinch runner Tommy Troy to second before Carroll gave the D-backs their major-league-leading 45th comeback victory and ninth walk-off.

Javier Sanoja and Jakob Marsee hit back-to-back homers in the fourth inning and combined for five hits and four RBIs for the Marlins, who led 3-0 after the second and 7-4 after the seventh.

Arizona’s Jordan Lawlar had two hits, and his two-run homer off Tyler Zuber with one out in the eighth brought the D-backs within 7-6.

The D-backs (80-71) remained 2 1/2 games behind the San Diego Padres (82-68) for the third and final National League wild-card spot with 11 games to play.

Lars Nootbaar homered among his three hits and Carroll added a run-scoring single for Arizona, which had lost three of four.

Diamondbacks reliever Juan Morillo (4-4) struck out three in a row after walking the first batter of the ninth.

Xavier Edwards had two hits and an RBI for the Marlins, who had won two in a row.

Miami starter Sandy Alcantara gave up four runs on seven hits in five innings, with six strikeouts and two walks. The Marlins have lost his last seven starts.

Arizona’s Corbin Burnes gave five runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings, leaving after reaching his 75-pitch limit. He struck out four and did not issue a walk. Burnes made his second start after being activated on Sept. 8 following Tommy John surgery that cost him the second half of the 2025 season.

Sanoja has reached base in a career-best 14 straight games and is hitting .407 (22-for-54) in that span.
