The Philadelphia Union erased a 3-0 deficit with four second-half goals in nine minutes, pulling off a stunning 4-3 comeback win over last-place Sporting Kansas City on Saturday evening in Kansas City, Kan.

After giving up an Andre Luiz brace and Wyatt Meyer’s first MLS goal to go down 3-0 inside of 16 minutes, the Union pulled to within 3-2 as Bruno Damiani (64th minute) and Cavan Sullivan (66th minute) found the net.

That set up Milan Iloski’s 68th-minute equalizer, followed by an own goal by SKC left back Zoran Bassong in the 73rd minute that completed the Philadelphia turnaround. The Union (10-10-6, 36 points) extended their winning streak to five matches while improving to 9-0-2 in their past 11 regular-season outings.

Sporting KC (5-17-3, 18 points) appeared on pace for a shocking home win as Luiz’s goals in the fifth and 10th minutes, and Meyer’s headed goal from a corner-kick in the 16th minute, staked them to a 3-0 lead.

That lead lasted until the second half, as the Union stormed back to continue their white-hot form.

The 16-year-old Sullivan, who received his first United States senior call-up for friendlies in September and October on Thursday, finished with his sixth goal in his last six matches. He was also credited with an assist on Damiani’s goal, his team-high 12th of the season and fifth in the last five matches.

Iloski’s goal was his team-high 13th of the season and his third in five matches.

Philadelphia has scored 19 goals during its winning streak, including 14 goals in its past three matches. It also improved to 5-7-2 on the road.

Kansas City, which dropped to 3-7-3 at home, has now allowed 63 goals, the highest total in MLS.

Luiz’s two goals for Sporting KC upped his total to three in four matches.
