Xtreme Gaming, Natus Vincere and GamerLegion won in sweeps in the first round of PGL Wallachia Season 9 on Saturday in Bucharest, Romania.
Team Nemesis, Conventus Stellarum, Aurora Gaming, Team Yandex and LGD Gaming also won in the opening of play in the group stage of the Dota 2 tournament.
The group stage, which started Saturday and runs through Wednesday, consists of 16 teams in a modified Swiss system. All matches are best-of-three.
The top eight teams advance to the playoffs and the other eight are eliminated. The playoffs, which run from Sept. 24-27, are double elimination with all matches best-of-three except for the grand final, which is best-of-five.
On Saturday, Xtreme Gaming downed Pibbles Corp 2-0, winning in 35 minutes on green and 29 minutes on red.
Natus Vincere swept Hokori, winning in 40 and 44 minutes, both on red.
GamerLegion blanked Team Cobra, winning in 48 minutes on green and 49 minutes on red.
Team Nemesis topped 1w Team 2-1, dropping the first map in 45 minutes while on green, then closing out with victories in 33 and 39 minutes, both on green.
Conventus Stellarum won in 37 minutes on red before PlayTime drew level with a marathon 65-minute victory on red. Conventus followed with a 73-minute win on green to take the match.
Pipsqueak+4 opened with a 40-minute win on red, then Aurora Gaming went 76 and 53 minutes on red to capture the match.
Team Yandex started well with a 25-minute win on green, then MOUZ got even with a 43-minute victory on green. Yandex emerged with the match on a 41-minute win on red.
Yakult Brothers claimed the first map in 46 minutes on red before LGD Gaming surged ahead with wins in 39 and 35 minutes, both on red.
