Leon Draisaitl had four assists to lead a huge second period in the Edmonton Oilers’ 5-2 road win over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.

Down 2-0 at the first intermission, Edmonton stormed back with five unanswered goals in the second frame. It was another strong offensive showing for the 3-0-1 Oilers, who have 22 goals in their first four games of the season.

Evan Bouchard had two goals and an assist, and Connor McDavid produced a goal and two assists. Bouchard leads the NHL with six goals, while McDavid tops the league in assists (nine) and points (12).

Draisaitl is up to nine points (three goals, six assists) after the star forward’s 12th career game with at least four assists.

Kasperi Kapanen and Vasily Podkolzin scored the Oilers’ other goals.

Devon Levi stopped 29 of 31 shots to earn his third win in as many starts this season.

Beckett Sennecke scored two power-play goals for the Ducks, who fell short after winning their previous two games this season. Leo Carlsson had two assists.

Lukas Dostal allowed five goals on 17 shots over two periods of action. Backup goalie Ville Husso replaced Dostal at the second intermission, and Husso stopped both shots faced.

The Ducks got off to a dominant start by outshooting Edmonton 16-6 in the first period, and Sennecke struck twice with the extra attacker.

Carlsson assisted on both tallies, but he also provided accidental help on Edmonton’s first goal. Just 11 seconds into the second period, Bouchard’s point shot deflected off Carlsson and beat a screened Dostal.

The fortunate bounce set the tone for the Oilers’ second-period surge. Kapanen struck next on the power play at the 6:30 mark, as the forward buried a one-timer for his 100th career NHL goal.

Bouchard launched a big shot from the upper slot that beat a screened Dostal again to put the Oilers ahead at 14:12 of the second frame.

A brilliant stretch pass from Draisaitl found Podkolzin entering the Ducks’ zone 16:49 into the second period, and Podkolzin converted the breakaway goal. McDavid added the final blow by scoring with 52 seconds remaining before intermission.
