Team Yandex swept Team Spirit to advance to the grand final at the BLAST Slam VIII event on Saturday in Attard, Malta.
Yandex posted a 2-0 victory by virtue of a 50-minute win on Radiant and 34-minute triumph on Dire.
Team Yandex advanced to the best-of-five grand final to face the winner of Sunday’s earlier lower-bracket final between Team Spirit and PARIVISION.
Also on Saturday, PARIVISION recorded a 2-0 victory over Aurora Gaming in a lower-bracket semifinal.
PARIVISION posted a 65-minute win on Dire and a 43-minute triumph on Radiant.
After the double-elimination group stage last week, the first-place teams in each group (PARIVISION, Aurora Gaming, Team Spirit and Team Yandex) advanced to the seeding matches, the second-place teams moved on to a last-chance round, and the other eight teams were eliminated. PARIVISION and Team Spirit won the seeding matches to grab the two first-round byes.
All matches in the double-elimination playoff bracket will be best-of-three until the best-of-five grand final on Sunday.
