Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov each registered a goal and an assist to guide the visiting Carolina Hurricanes to a 4-1 victory over the winless Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

Mark Jankowski added a late tally to extend his goal streak to four games for the Hurricanes, who have won five straight since losing their first two. Pyotr Kochetkov made 18 saves for Carolina, which improved to 4-0 on the road.

Christian Dvorak scored the only goal for Philadelphia, which fell to 0-5-2. The Flyers already have lost twice at home to the Hurricanes and have dropped 11 straight games overall, including six to Carolina, which includes the Canes’ playoff sweep last spring.

Kochetkov improved to 3-0-0 (including two wins against the Flyers) and raised his lifetime mark against Philadelphia to 8-1-0. Joseph Woll made 26 saves for the Flyers, who have been outscored 28-8 during the disastrous start to their campaign.

Rangers 6, Canucks 2

Tye Kartye and Will Cuylle each scored twice as New York Rangers remained unbeaten at home by pulling away for a victory over Vancouver.

The Rangers improved to 4-0-0 at home in their first game since losing star goaltender Igor Shesterkin to a season-ending lower-body injury in Friday’s 3-1 loss at Washington. Alexis Lafreniere scored a power-play goal and added an assist and Dylan Garand made 19 saves in his first game as New York’s No. 1 goaltender.

Jake DeBrusk scored in the first period and defenseman Elias Pettersson netted a short-handed goal in the second, shortly before Kartye’s second tally, as the Canucks lost their fourth straight. Goaltender Kevin Lankinen allowed six goals on 25 shots.

Kraken 5, Capitals 3

Jared McCann scored the tiebreaking goal at 14:33 of the third period, and Seattle overcame Alex Ovechkin’s first goal of the season to beat host Washington.

Ryan Winterton and Frederick Gaudreau each had a goal and an assist, Kaapo Kakko and Jordan Eberle also scored, and Ben Meyers had two assists for the Kraken, who have won the first two games of their five-game trip. Goaltender Joey Daccord made a season-high 33 saves.

Jordan Kyrou and Boone Jenner also scored, and Logan Thompson stopped 22 of 27 shots for Washington, which lost for just the second time in its past 17 games at Capital One Arena dating to last season (13-2-2).
