Rafael Nadal will participate in an exhibition event in Las Vegas this winter, marking the tennis legend’s first time back on a U.S. court since retiring from the ATP Tour in 2024.
The Spaniard, with 22 grand slams to his name, is set to headline the MGM Slam at T-Mobile Arena, home of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, on Feb. 28, 2027. Nadal, 40, faced countryman and current World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz at the same event during his final year on the ATP.
“I remember how impressive it was to feel the energy of a full arena in a city like Las Vegas,” Nadal said Monday in a press release announcing his U.S. return.
“After that match in 2024, now I return in a different stage of my life, without the pressure of the tour but with the same passion for this sport. I have always loved competing, and even if my professional career is finished, that feeling never really goes away.”
The 2027 MGM Slam is scheduled just days before the start of the ATP 1000 event held annually in Indian Wells, Calif.
