Jannik Sinner announced Friday that his successful partnership with coach Darren Cahill will end before the 2027 season.

The 25-year-old Italian star won five Grand Slam championships and soared to No. 1 in the world since Cahill joined his team in 2022.

“Darren has been an incredibly important part of my journey,” Sinner wrote. “Together with Simone (Vagnozzi) and the whole team, we have achieved things I dreamed of growing up. Winning five Grand Slam titles and reaching World No. 1 together are achievements I will always treasure, but what means just as much is the relationship we have built along the way.

“I want to thank Darren for his belief in me, his honesty and his dedication. He has helped me grow both as a player and as a person, and his guidance will stay with me throughout my career. We have shared so many special moments over the past five years, and while our coaching partnership is coming to an end, our friendship will continue.”

Cahill, 61, of Australia, previously coached Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Murray and Simona Halep, among others, before joining Sinner’s team.

Sinner won two Australian Opens (2024, 2025), two Wimbledon titles (2025, 2026) and the 2024 U.S. Open with Cahill on his team. He reached World No. 1 for the first time in June 2024 and spent 95 weeks at the top. Sinner currently ranks No. 2 after missing time with injuries.

“Working with Jannik has been a special honour and privilege,” Cahill said. “He’s an amazing young man and a humble, dedicated champion that we are all incredibly proud of. Trust, honesty and belief only work when it’s exchanged both ways, and this has been Jannik’s strength as an athlete. It’s also the reason that makes coaching someone like him such a memorable experience.

“I want to thank Jannik, the entire team, and all the fans for welcoming this Aussie into the wonderful Italian family. I wish the team nothing but continued success for the coming years.”

Sinner also confirmed that Magnus Norman will join his coaching team, starting next month, alongside Vagnozzi. Norman previously helped Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka win three Grand Slam titles.
