Marquette forced 20 turnovers and held Detroit Mercy to 13 points in the second half to cruise to a 93-32 blowout win in Milwaukee Friday.

Alex Egbuonu led the Golden Eagles (2-0) with 16 points while Royce Parham, Damarius Owens and Adrien Stevens each scored 12.

Marquette hit 48% of its shots from the floor and made 12 of 39 3-pointers. The Titans (0-1) made just 13 of 59 shots from the field (22%) and only 1 of 2 free throws.

The Golden Eagles put the game completely out of reach by going on a 24-2 run that finished with back-to-back dunks by Parham and Alex Egbuonu to make it 77-26 with 5:57 left.

Egbuonu’s dunk finished a personal seven-point run toward the end of the streak.

Tyler Spratt led the Titans with eight points.

Spratt hit a jumper with 16:42 left that ended a more than eight-minute drought for the Titans that carried over from the first half.

The Golden Eagles finished the first half with a 16-2 run to take a 41-19 lead into the break.

Owens led the first-half scoring with 11, including a jumper with 2:03 left to finish a 9-0 run.

The Golden Eagles forced 12 turnovers — including seven steals — and scored 14 fastbreak points before intermission.

Marquette jumped out to an early 9-2 lead before the Titans cut it to 9-8.

The Golden Eagles responded with a 10-0 run over the next 4:15 with the Titans missing all seven shots they took.

An Egbuonu dunk with 11:47 to go made it 21-10 and a minute later Parham hit a layup to make it 23-12 Marquette.

The Titans already had committed six turnovers by that point.

Nigel James Jr. scored off a steal and Parham hit a jumper to make it 32-17 with 6:09 left.

Vladyslav Semerych scored for the Titans off the Golden Eagle’s only first-half turnover with 5:06 left, but the Golden Eagles didn’t slow down.

Sananda Fru drove the baseline for a dunk and Owens hit a jumper for a 36-19 lead.

The lead reached 20 when Fru nailed a 3-pointer off a James assist with 2:36 left in the half.

The Golden Eagles hit 40.5% of their shots from the floor in the first half and outscored the Titans 14-3 on fastbreaks.
