CouRage leaving Twitch for exclusive YouTube deal

Jack “CouRage” Dunlop announced Monday that he is leaving Twitch to live-stream exclusively on YouTube.

Dunlop, who has 2.1 million followers on Twitch, made the announcement official in a YouTube video skit produced by 100 Thieves that generated more than 300,000 views in less than an hour. His first YouTube stream is scheduled for Tuesday.

CouRage, a former Call of Duty” commentator, had more than 1.85 million subscribers on YouTube at the time of the announcement.

“I’m very excited to continue expanding my relationship with my YouTube audience, as well as leverage the platform for new collabs and experiences,” Dunlop said in a statement. “This deal with YouTube allows me to create more content and engage with my fans in real time. I am very fortunate to do what I do on a daily basis and welcome my fans to join me on the next phase of my journey.”

It is the latest in a string of high-profile streamers to leave Twitch. Tyler “Ninja” Blevins left the platform for an exclusive deal with Mixer in August and was later followed by Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek.

CouRage, 25, is also a content creator for 100 Thieves, who field esports teams in CoD, League of Legends and Fortnite. With fellow 100 Thieves members Matt “Nadeshot” Haag and Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter also in Monday’s announcement, it is expected that CouRage will also remain with the organization.

CouRage came to 100 Thieves in May after spending most of 2018 as a content creator for OpTic Gaming and has previously worked for Major League Gaming, where he began his casting career, and Activision.
