Ehlinger completed 65.2 percent of his passes for 3,663 yards and 32 touchdowns in 13 games in 2019. He also was the second-leading rusher for the Longhorns, running for 663 yards and seven touchdowns.
The quarterback led Texas to the Big 12 championship game in 2018, a loss to Oklahoma, but the Longhorns struggled this season, finishing 8-5 (5-4 Big 12). They defeated No. 11 Utah in the Alamo Bowl, and Ehlinger was the game’s MVP after throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns and running for another score.
