4 teams advance to IEM Chengdu group finals

Four teams advanced to the upper-bracket finals on Tuesday as the group stage continued at the $300,000 Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2025 tournament in China.

Astralis and Team Falcons will meet in the Group A final and FURIA and MOUZ will square off in Group B.

Sixteen Counter-Strike 2 teams began this week’s competition on Monday, vying for a top prize of $125,000.

The double-elimination group stage features two groups of eight teams, with all matches best-of-three. The group winners advance to the playoff semifinals, with the group runners-up entering the quarterfinals as high seeds and the third-place teams entering the quarterfinals as low seeds.

The single-elimination playoffs start Friday with all matches best-of-three until Sunday’s best-of-five grand final.

In Group A’s upper-bracket semifinals, Astralis swept The MongolZ and Falcons swept Team Spirit. In the Group A lower-bracket quarterfinals, HEROIC defeated Natus Vincere 2-1 and paiN Gaming swept TYLOO.

In Group B’s upper-bracket semifinals, FURIA swept G2 Esports and MOUZ earned a 2-1 win over Vitality. In the Group B lower-bracket quarterfinals, Lynn Vision Gaming beat 3DMAX and Virtus.pro beat FaZe Clan, both by 2-1 scores.

The tournament continues Wednesday with six more matches:

Group A:
–Astralis vs. Team Falcons (upper-bracket final)
–Team Spirit vs. HEROIC (lower-bracket semifinal)
–The MongolZ vs. paiN Gaming (lower-bracket semifinal)

Group B:
–FURIA vs. MOUZ (upper-bracket final)
–Vitality vs. Lynn Vision Gaming (lower-bracket semifinal)
–G2 Esports vs. Virtus.pro (lower-bracket semifinal)
