Karmine Corp capped off a strong run through this week’s Rocket League Championship Series Paris Major with a 4-1 defeat of Twisted Minds in the grand final on Sunday in Nanterre, France.
After a 3-0 run through Group A, Karmine Corp won each of three playoff matches, also beating Team Vitality 4-3 in a semifinal match earlier on Sunday at Paris La Defense Arena. Twisted Minds, which finished second in Group C, won four straight elimination matches, including 4-3 over Shopify Rebellion in a semifinal, before losing the grand final.
In the final, Karmine Corp jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a 4-2 victory on Parc de Paris and a 1-0 win on Forbidden Temple. Twisted Minds took a timeout and came out of it with a 3-0 triumph on Mannfield (Dusk). That success was short-lived, however, as Karmine Corp responded, clinching the championship with a 2-1 win on Utopia Coliseum (Dusk) followed by a 2-1 overtime win on Sovereign Heights.
Axel “Vatira” Touret of France was named MVP of the Paris Major, joined in victory by Charles “juicy” Sabiani of France and Tristan “Atow.” The team claimed the $102,000 first-place price along with 36 RLCS circuit ranking points.
Twisted Minds takes home $51,000 and 24 RLCS points for its second-place finish.
The second major of the year for RLCS began with a group stage of 16 teams, split into four groups of four, playing best-of-five matches on Wednesday and Thursday. Each team played three matches, with winners of each group qualifying for the upper bracket of the playoffs.
The second and third-place teams in each group qualified for the lower bracket, and the bottom team in each group was eliminated.
The playoffs were best-of-seven on Friday through Sunday, with the top four teams needing to lose twice to be eliminated while the fifth through 12th would be eliminated with just one loss.
The event put on by BLAST features a $345,000 prize pool. The Paris event will also contribute to qualification points toward the 2026 Rocket League World Championship, with the automatic spots for the event determined with the Paris Major’s conclusion.
Any teams not automatically qualified on points will not have one final opportunity in July’s last-chance qualifiers, where the final four teams that will advance to the world championship will be decided.
Twisted Minds made its run through the lower bracket by beating FUT Esports 4-1 in Round 1, FURIA 4-2 in Round 2 and Gentle Mates 4-2 in the quarterfinals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, respectively. Twisted Minds jumped ahead 3-1 in its Sunday semifinal against Shopify Rebellion but lost its first two clinching opportunities before finally securing the victory with a 5-1 win in the seventh and final game on Champions Field.
Karmine Corp won its upper-bracket quarterfinal against Gentle Mates 4-1 on Friday to advance straight to the semifinals. Karmine Corp likewise needed to eke out a 4-3 victory in similar fashion in its semifinal, jumping ahead of Team Vitality 3-1 before losing its next two. Also on Champions Field, Karmine Corp won Game 7 4-1 to advance to the final.
