Timeless and Spacestation Gaming are tied atop the standings for the Overwatch Champions Series’ North American Stage 1 after earning victories on Friday.
Spacestation Gaming defeated Amplify 3-1 while Timeless swept Shikigami 3-0 as Week 2 action got underway. Both victors have won two of their three regular-season matches.
The $100,000 tournament, played online, features eight teams. The regular-season round robin will conclude Feb. 23, with six qualifying teams then heading to the double-elimination regional playoffs.
The first-place team will take home $30,000, the second-place team will make $20,000, and both will earns berth in the OCS’ Champions Clash.
On Friday, Timeless prevailed 2-0 in Lijiang Tower Control, 3-1 on Numbani Hybrid and 84.87m-84.86m on Esperanca Push. South Korean-American Joshua “Chopper” Song of Timeless was selected the match MVP.
Spacestation Gaming jumped on top with a 2-0 victory on Lijiang Tower Control before Amplify took Suravasa Flashpoint 3-2. Spacestation sealed the match by capturing Dorado Escort 1-0 and Colosseo 139.62m-37.03m. Canadian-American Alex “seeker” Taylor of Spacestation earned MVP honors.
