Vitality, Spirit advance to BLAST Bounty Fall semifinals

Team Vitality and Team Spirit advanced to the semifinals of the BLAST Bounty Fall event with 2-0 sweeps on Friday in Malta.

Vitality eliminated Team Liquid and Spirit knocked out Virtus.pro to join MOUZ and The MongolZ in the final four of the $480,000 Counter-Strike 2 tournament.

Vitality will meet The MongolZ and Spirit will take on MOUZ in Saturday’s semifinals, with the winners advancing to Sunday’s best-of-five grand final.

Eight teams selected from a closed qualifier began the event on Thursday, competing in a single-elimination bracket.

On Friday, Vitality edged Liquid 16-13 on Train and 19-16 in overtime on Nuke. Robin “ropz” Kool of Estonia paced Vitality with 56 kills, just ahead of Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut of France with 55. Both posted plus-17 kills-to-deaths differentials.

Spirit defeated Virtus.pro 13-10 on Ancient and 13-3 on Overpass. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets of Russia topped Spirit with 43 kills and a plus-20 K-D.
