Yandex, MOUZ advance to BLAST Slam V semifinals

Team Yandex and MOUZ won their quarterfinal matches Friday to reach the final four at the $1 million BLAST Slam V event in Chengdu, China.

Yandex rallied for a 2-1 win over OG and MOUZ swept Natus Vincere to advance to Saturday’s semifinals of the 12-team Dota 2 tournament that began on Nov. 25.

Yandex will meet Team Falcons and MOUZ will take on Tundra Esports, with the winners advancing to Sunday’s best-of-five grand final. The champion will receive $300,000 prize money and $100,000 in team earnings.

OG began Friday’s action with a 40-minute win on green but Yandex answered with a 33-minute win on green and a 47-minute victory on red. Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov of Kazakhstan posted a 12-1-10 kills-deaths-assists ratio in the decisive game.

MOUZ eliminated Natus Vincere with victories in 24 and 48 minutes on green. Remco “Crystallis” Arets of the Netherlands paced MOUZ with seven kills in the opening game, while Daniyal “yamich” Lazebnyy of Russia posted a team-high 15 kills in the clincher.
