Formula 1 driver Esteban Ocon declared himself a free agent ahead of the 2027 season.
The 30-year-old Frenchman’s stance comes as Haas has yet to decide its lineup for 2027. He debuted in F1 with Manor in 2016.
“At the moment I am definitely a free agent for next year,” Ocon said. “There are things in discussion that are out of my control and there are certain topics that are out of my control. So I will keep pushing until the end of the year and see how it goes.”
When asked if staying at Haas was an option, Ocon responded: “Let’s see.”
ESPN reported Haas was close to bringing in Yuki Tsunoda to replace Ocon, who joined Haas in 2025 but struggled to perform as well as teammate Oliver Bearman. Bearman has secured 18 points as opposed to three for Ocon.
Brazilian Formula 2 driver Rafael Camara likely will team with Bearman next season.
