Jaymiell Martina racked up 12 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings to lead Curacao to a 4-0 victory over Japan to claim the International championship victory on Saturday afternoon.
Martina scattered two hits and two walks over 88 pitches before giving way to Glendry Ryan, who retired the final batter to wrap up the victory for Pariba Little League from Willemstad. Curacao faces U.S. champion Paseo Verde Little League of Henderson, Nevada in the title game at 3 p.m. ET Sunday.
Curacao scored three unearned runs in the third, then Martina cracked an RBI double in the fourth for the lone extra-base hit of the game.
Yunosuke Yabe went the distance for Japan and allowed four hits and one earned run over five innings with six strikeouts and one walk. Joto Little League of Tokyo will meet West Side Little League of Hamilton, Ohio, in the third-place game at 10 a.m. ET Sunday.
