The latest round of investment funding for Unrivaled has raised the valuation of the 3-on-3 women’s basketball league to $340 million, it announced Monday.

There were no specifics on how much funding was raised, with reports indicating the league’s value is now “ten times” more than it was in the spring of 2024, which was more than six months before Unrivaled made its debut in January.

The league announced that tennis legend Serena Williams made a recent investment in Unrivaled, along with NBA players Trae Young, Franz Wagner and Moritz Wagner. Warner Bros./Discovery increased its investment, as did women’s soccer legend Alex Morgan.

Unrivaled emerged as the winter/spring complement to the spring/summer WNBA, with both leagues using the same players.

Founded by players Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, Unrivaled was developed as a domestic option for players to remain and play in the United States during the offseason. The league’s first season ended in March with Rose BC, led by Chelsea Gray, winning the inaugural title.

Despite being a new league, Unrivaled paid its players an average salary of $220,000, with the much larger WNBA paying its players an average of just under $120,000 per season, according to Statista.

Most players already have been signed for Unrivaled’s second season, with the league set to introduce a developmental pool of players to help fill roster spots in case of injury.

The league played its first season exclusively in the Miami area and will largely remain there in 2026. However, league president Alex Bazzell said Unrivaled has plans to add a stop in a new city and a bigger arena.
