The Phoenix Suns will re-evaluate star guard Devin Booker in one week after he suffered a right ankle sprain.

The Suns made the announcement Sunday before hosting the Miami Heat, two days after Booker left the third quarter of Phoenix’s 110-103 loss at the Atlanta Hawks.

Phoenix coach Jordan Ott also said that guard Jalen Green is “day to day” with a lingering hamstring issue after an early exit in the game in Atlanta.

Booker stepped on Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu’s right foot while running up court. Booker, a four-time All-Star, needed help getting off the court.

Booker “seems to be in a pretty good place,” Ott said before the Heat game.

Booker would be expected to miss Phoenix’s five-game homestand against the Heat, Brooklyn Nets, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers in an eight-day span before he’s re-evaluated. Then the Suns play six games in early February before the league’s All-Star break.

Booker, 29, has averaged 25.4 points, 6.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per contest through 41 games this season. He’s shooting a career-low 31.3% from 3-point range.

Green, who turns 24 on Feb. 9, has played only four games after suffering a right hamstring injury in training camp, the first two in early November before the injury recurred.

After a 33-game absence, Green scored 12 points in 20 minutes off the bench in a 116-110 victory at Philadelphia on Tuesday before again tweaking the hamstring late in the first quarter at Atlanta.

Ott said on Sunday that an MRI didn’t reveal “anything new” in terms of damage to Green’s hamstring. Green worked out with coaches on Sunday morning but was ruled out for the game against the Heat.

Green was expected to join Dillon Brooks and Booker to form an elite scoring trio. Green and Brooks were acquired in July as part of the seven-team deal that sent 15-time All-Star and 2013-14 NBA Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant to Houston.
